Strathclyde has given staff Fridays off during Lockdown

This is to help staff achieve a balance between home and work life

The University of Strathclyde has told staff members that they don’t need to work on Fridays following the latest lockdown. The principal Sir Jim McDonald wrote to staff and told them that they could use Fridays as a day to rest.

The University has introduced similar measures during the first lockdown in March 2020 and was met with positive feedback from the staff. The university of Newcastle also implemented a  four day week for staff  in April so that they could achieve a good balance between work and home life during the lockdown.

However, some have claimed in response that it may be difficult for staff to fit their workload into just four days.
