Applications for The Tab Glasgow’s Editorial Team are now OPEN
Please fill out the form by the 15th of April
The Tab Glasgow is enjoyed by thousands of university students every month, and we are now looking for keen students to take on roles within the editorial team for the next academic year 2022/23.
The roles available are News Editor, Features Editor, Social Media Editor, and Editor-in-Chief. We welcome applications from any student at the University of Glasgow, Strathclyde University and Glasgow Caledonian University.
Tab reporters are able to report on anything and everything related to Glasgow and the universities in the area. Whether it be reporting at the historic COP26, interviewing successful Glasgow alumni or running fun competitions, there is something for everyone.

The Tab reporting at COP26
Ideally we’d love for those applying to have some journalistic experience – whether that be writing your own blog, or writing for a school newspaper. But even if you don’t have a huge amount of experience, apply anyway – you’ll receive full training.
Taking on one of these roles would be a golden addition to the CV, particularly if you are considering a career within the media in the future.
Editor-in-Chief
As Editor-in-Chief, you will oversee every article published by The Tab Glasgow. You will recruit and manage a team of contributors, helping to ensure everyone is writing something. You will also write articles, as well as receiving training from the team at Tab HQ.
News Editor
You will be in charge of finding and breaking all the hottest stories, such as the time The Tab Glasgow reported on the coronavirus halls outbreak. You will also need to write articles every week, as well as supporting the Editor-in-Chief.
Features Editor
You will be responsible for writing and editing all the feature articles. It is crucial that you know what is happening on campus and know what sort of fun and exciting articles our readers would enjoy.
Social Media Editor
You will be responsible for posting the articles on Instagram and Facebook, making sure the articles are presented in an appealing way. You will need to learn how to grow the account, potentially building up thousands more followers. You will need to know how to create good, eye-catching stories – check our COP26 story highlight for an idea of a good story. You will also need to know all the best Glasgow and student-related memes. (If you are wanting a career within social media or marketing, this role is perfect!)
If you are interested in any of the roles, please fill out this form. Once you have filled in the form, we will be in touch via email with the next stage, asking applicants to send a paragraph on why they want the role. Good luck!
