Towers has reopened with new measures to safely accommodate for Lincoln students

Changes have been made to the newly named, Towers, run by the University of Lincoln’s Students’ Union in order to accommodate social distancing in the coming winter months. Towers, along with The Swan reopened on the 5th of October as more students make their way to Lincoln to start their university journey.

With term starting for most students this week, many have begun to return to uni, settling into their accommodations, checking their busy timetables, and wondering how they’re going to have a social life in the current climate. With these new changes made to Towers, students will be able to stay safe, enjoy live TV, and socialise outside their living arrangements.

A spokesperson for the University of Lincoln’s Students’ Union said, “We are really excited to be installing awnings, eco-friendly infrared heaters, outdoor TV’s and recycled plastic seating to enhance the outdoor area of Towers. We want as many students as possible to be able to use their SU venues this year, so expanding the outside area was crucial to combat the limitations that COVID-19 has presented.”

All changes are currently in progress and were completed on Monday. The SU’s Engine Shed has now also been set up to become a study area for students with the term now restarting.
