Liverpool is the third cheapest UK city for graduates to live in

It beats every other major city


New data has found that Liverpool is the third cheapest city to live in as a graduate. Liverpool was only beaten by Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme.

The average cost of living in Liverpool, things such as bills and expenses, for one month is £721.83. This is the same as other cities such as Manchester; however, the average rent is much cheaper. The average rent in Liverpool was a mere £503 a month, compared to £779 in Manchester, and £749 in Leeds.

This meant that for a graduate earning the average starting salary of £18,244, by living in Liverpool they would save £183.10 a month, the third highest amount in the country.

The cheapest places to live as a graduate

On the other end of the scale, it is no surprise that London is the most expensive place to live as a graduate. Living in London costs an estimated £1445.50 a month more than living in Liverpool. Rent in London is over three times rent in Liverpool.
