How to wear the perfect plaits
They’re back, but how will you wear yours? Check out our extensive guide here…
The hottest hairstyles of Spring 2014. You’ve guessed it, plaits are back!
Bored of always having the same hairstyle? Not anymore.
The Tab is showing you the best ways to wear that plait!
Plaits were all over London Fashion Week and getting the look is a lot easier than you may think. The Tab has been experimenting with plaits and braids; we’ve created some catwalk-ready styles which are easy to do at home.
Ocean dilemmas
Girls let’s admit it, ocean isn’t the most glamorous night out in Nottingham. Sweaty fringes and messy hair is a regular Wednesday night sight.
This fringe French plait is perfect for keeping your hair off your face and still looking half decent by the time the bar crawl is over. Easy to do, it takes no longer than 2 minutes!
Power plaits
There is nothing worse than hitting the gym and not being prepared (hair wise) for your work out. This fishtail plait looks sophisticated in lectures but keeps your hair off your face for the gym.
Festival fix
Festival season is soon approaching, for many girls the idea of not having straighteners and a hair dryer can be very daunting. The tab has a solution.
This style not only looks quirky but is easy to do. Take small sections of your hair and start plaiting each individually, then scoop your hair in a simple ponytail.
To finish the look off take a small section of hair from the ponytail, plait it, wrap it around the hair tie and grip in place.
No added plaits
The perfect ‘Pandora’s Box’ look. For those girls who love having their hair down the big decision before a night out is, ‘do I have my hair curly or straight?’
With this look you can still keep your hair down but make your style a little more interesting with a low French plait.
For those of you who like to have your hair up, this is definitely the look for you. It may look difficult to do, but we promise it is quick and easy.
Split your hair into three sections and French plait each separately, bring the sections together and grip in a messy bun, pull two strands of hair out of the bun and plait each. Pull each plait over the bun and grip in place.
Five minute makeover
If you are constantly late to those 9am lectures this look is perfect for you. Have that extra 10 minutes in bed and simply throw your hair in a messy plait.
Miley fans
For those of you who love experimenting with different hairstyles, this is a great one to try. Very Miley Cyrus inspired this hair-do is tricky but definitely worth it. The more French plaits you can fit onto your head, the better.
Cocktail
The upside-down French plait hair style looks great for a meal out or cocktail with the girls. Tip your head upside down and start French plaiting from the bottom of your head up.
Gather the hair into a donut style of bun on the top of your head. This look can be tricky to do on yourself, I would recommend asking a friend for their expertise!
