Many things separate a friend from being a best friend. Here are a few telltale signs to show whether you’re mere pals or if you’re true BFFs.

1) You share everything with each other. Wardrobe, make up, alcohol, cigarettes – even food. Your weekly trip to ASDA is a joint venture; “Shall we get this?” and “Before I buy it, do you like this type of cheese?” Even if you’re the type who doesn’t like people eating from your plate, they’re the exception.

2) You know each other’s romantic history like the back of your hand. You haven’t met any of these exes, but you’ve heard so much about them, you feel like you do.

3) You’ve met each other’s parents. Who you exchanged phone numbers with, and became friends on Facebook with.

4) You’ve been to visit them in their hometown.

5) You wouldn’t bat an eyelid at their nakedness. You’ve showered in front of each other.

6) You’ve also pooped in front of each other. Ok, this maybe only applies to those who aren’t prim and proper, but it definitely crosses the friendship line.

7) Every time they go to the toilet, you ask where they’re going. You’ll miss them in those 5 minutes they disappear.

8) You’ve picked up some of their native language. This only applies to international students. Or maybe you’ve invented some kind of language of your own that no one else understands.

9) You can be brutally honest with each other. Even if it’s not something you want to hear, it’s probably best that it comes from them and not anyone else.

10) You get jealous when they start spending too much time with someone else.

11) One of you is the mother in the relationship and one is the child.

13) You wouldn’t respond to certain texts without consulting her first.

14) You are so loyal to one another that no one would dare say a bad word about either one of you in front of the other.

15) People refer to you as a pair. And your boyfriends are suspicious that the two of you are actually in a lesbian relationship rather than a friendship.
