No job after uni? This Trent grad dragged a huge ‘hire me’ door around London
We’re not saying you should do this, but you know, think about it
The latest job-seeker to jump on the novelty application bandwagon is Clodagh Pickavance, who heaved a giant black door around London looking for work.
After a year of job hunting, the Trent Broadcast Journalism grad, 23, launched her own publicity stunt called #FootInTheDoor to snare proper work.
Part-time model Clodagh lugged a large wooden door through Spitalfields in East London to catch the eye of potential employers.
Because you’re worth it
Clodagh is the most recent jobless hopeful to perform a cringe publicity stunt in search of work.
Last year, Coventry Marketing grad Alfred Ajani, 22, handed out CVs in Waterloo Station and Sussex businessman Will Bower, 21, filmed a gimmicky “hire me” video inspired by David Brent.
Clodagh said: “I don’t want to look like I’m copying somebody.
“But you need to try and make it stand out and think a bit more laterally about it.
“I had postcodes written down and walk times worked out. And I had a list of places which increased as people tweeted me asking me to come down.”

Clodagh, who also presents on the music site Mi-Soul, explained how she made the enormous black door.
She said: “My next-door neighbour is a handyman, so he built me a frame which you can dismantle.
“Then the door had special hinges on it so that you could hook the door on and off the frame, and my brother helped me carry it from place to place and set the door up.
“And then my sister came along as well and she was like my personal photographer so it was a bit of a family effort. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without their help.”
The former Miss Reading 2014 added: “I do some part-time modelling as well, and I don’t want people to think that I’ve not got brains or something like that when actually I’m quite a clever girl.
“A lot of doors have been opened.”
She’s already been put forward onto the L’Oreal grad scheme and is in talks with PR companies about paid opportunities.
