There’s a ‘Warwick for Free Education’ uprising on campus

It’s got a petition and everything.

Angry campaigners are calling upon Vice-Chancellor Thrift to speak against raising tuition fees.

A petition has been made by Warwick for Free Education demanding Vice-Chancellor Nigel Thrift to stand against lifting the cap off and rising the current £9,000 tuition fees and to support a call for free education.

Warwick for Free Education was formed at the start if the academic year.

It believes that as Warwick Student Union holds a policy of free education, Nigel Thrift should support the cause and back the opinion of the student body.

It’s basically a Proletariat revolution over library books.

Warwick for Free Education have already been involved in getting 100 students participating in the national demonstration for free education in London in November.

On the 3rd December, Warwick for Free Education plan to thrust a display of cardboard signs in the direction of Nigel Thrift’s office on the 3rd December.

Sort it out, Nige.

Callum Cant, a supporter of Warwick for Free Education, said: “I support Free Education for one very simple reason: education is a right, which should be equally available to everyone.

“The current fee system is unsustainable and is putting our generation deep in debt before we even leave university. What we want is an education system free from fees, debt, underfunding and corporate influence.”
