Leamington’s Millennium Balti didn’t win the British Takeaway Awards

But at least they got to the final

The well-known Leamington Curry House, Millennium Balti, made it to the final of the British Takeaway Awards, but unfortunately did not win.

The panel of judges, who included celebrity chef Ainsley Harriott and businesswoman and star of BBC2 Dragon’s Den Sarah Willingham crowned Chicken George in Luton the winners instead.

The awards are run in association with Just Eat to celebrate the diverse range of cuisines available, and aim to reward the contribution made by takeaway owners to their local communities and the British economy.

The Leamington Curry House were up against finalists from 2015, Café Balti in Sheldon, and Lime Pickle in Solihull.

Owner Mohammed Abdul Ahad said: “To have made the top five takeaways in the West Midlands is a brilliant achievement.

“We genuinely care about our customers, we want to provide the best food possible and service. We do everything with love, that’s our secret ingredient.”

The Best Takeaway in the West Midlands award went to Lime Pickle in Solihull.
