Don’t panic: colleges receive counter-terrorism training

We’re probably safe though

If the media has scared you silly about terrorism then don’t panic: colleges are being trained.

The Tab can exclusively reveal that main campus and Queens Campus are being trained in counter-terrorism by the boys in blue.

Probably not going to be in Durham

Staff, far away from the bustling streets of London and even further from jihadi bases in the Middle East, are being trained by the best.

Durham Uni told The Tab: “The university actively participates in training and briefing sessions with both Durham Constabulary and Cleveland Police as part of Project ARGUS. This police-led initiative aimed at providing training to business and the community in relation to potential terrorist attacks or extremist activity.

“Colleges in both Durham and at Queens Campus have been in receipt of this training and use this as part of local resilience preparation.”

Not today Satan

The free training runs for three hours and asks questions and presents various problems for groups to think about, with the aim of raising awareness of the threat of terrorism.

Durham Constabulary are leading efforts to prepare our academic overlords for a terrorist attack. It comes after they were recently declared the best police force in the country, despite the Home Office slamming their lack of ethnic minority officers.

Project ARGUS was made by the National Counter Terrorism Security Office and presented by Counter Terrorism Security Advisers throughout the country.

So if terrorism is keeping you awake at night fear not: Durham’s on it.
