Durham plans to cut Easter holidays and make exams last longer

It could mean no free time after exams

Durham have announced there are plans to extend the number of weeks spent on exams. This could mean the Easter holiday is cut a week short, as well as less time at the end of term usually spent on post exam events.

The plans are partly a reaction to the transfer of students from Stockton, where the increased numbers mean there is not enough space to fit all the exams in the current three week period.

The plans would take effect in 2018 at the earliest, meaning this year will continue with the current three week exam period.
