A Cuth’s second-year passed away yesterday

The college is offering help to anyone affected

| UPDATED

The news that a second-year Durham University student died yesterday was confirmed by their college this afternoon.

The student was a member of St Cuthbert’s Society.

The college sent out an e-mail to all its students today assuring them that help will be available for everyone who may need it. The e-mail says the student’s ‘death is a big shock and a loss for all of us here at St Cuthbert’s Society, as well as the wider University community.’

Furthermore, it says the college will be working with the student’s friends ‘to provide them with support and to consider how to bring the whole college community together to mark our loss.’

The Tab will not name the student at this point in time out of respect for their family and friends.
