The show will raise money for Student Minds
Walk On Charity Fashion Show is back, and it's set to be bigger and better than ever before.
This year's show, themed "20/20 Vision", will raise money for Student Minds, a charity working in UK universities to promote positive mental health for students. They do this by delivering student-led peer support interventions, as well as research-driven workshops and campaigns.
With model auditions around the corner, it's time to meet the brains behind the operation, and meet the 2020 Walk On Exec…

What makes Walk On different to any other Durham fashion show?
The intercollegiate element makes it more accessible to all Durham students especially for those who might find being part of DUCFS more daunting. It’s such a great opportunity to celebrate student creativity and make new friends without the boundaries of the colleges.

What does this year's charity mean to you?
Mental health is an incredibly important topic that affects us all and so it’s fantastic that this year we are supporting Student Minds. This charity does brilliant work to empower students to look after their mental health and help others when they are struggling. Students Minds’ innovative and passionate attitude to mental health means that students can seek support and continue to flourish in higher education. It is a very worthy cause that can change lives.

Why did you select this charity?
I selected Student Minds because with roughly a third of students today expressing psychological distress, mental health has never been so topical. Student Minds specifically aims to help those of student age, and could potentially play a role in helping you or your peers.

What does this year's charity mean to you?
Student minds is a wonderful charity that helps to empower students and members of university communities. It’s great that a student-led fashion show can help fundraise for a mental health charity that helps all students across the UK.

Half naked boys- now that will be a "Vision" !!

What kickstarted your interest in graphic design?
I was in an Economics lecture and started doodling on photos of friends and realised I could start making posters
Most embarrassing moment at Durham?
In first year, I passed out on someone I had just met in Spags (I live with her now so it’s all good)

Model and compere auditions for the show will be held this weekend, Saturday 30th November and Sunday 1st December. Head to Room 113 in the Teaching and Learning Centre on Saturday between 11am and 3pm, and on Sunday between 12pm and 3pm to get involved.
